Case Study 1

"Although I am working on coping alone I attend the Wellbeing Exchange at weekends where I meet others for company and a meal. I find it hard to motivate myself to do things and leave the house, so having Springfield is a lifeline to the outside world which I was forced to face after so long."

Case Study 2
"it soon became clear that there was an undergoing issue with her maintaining her property.

On first inspection all appeared well"

CLIENT C

Has been agoraphobic for 30 years. Since her mother died she had become a recluse in her own home. Unable to get out to pay bills, access medical appointments and purchase food and clothes for herself it soon became apparent that she would need some form of support.

Referred by a neighbour she was assessed and a programme was drawn up of several staff who could work with this lady to get her out of her home.

It took a lot of patience and gradual exposure work before she was able to walk a short distance from her home. Staff would meet her in different locations each week working towards her twelve week support plan.

Working with her she was supported accessing buses, walking to the local supermarket, accessing medical appointments and maintaining her home. As her mother had always done everything for her she had never had to cook or clean for herself.

Staff taught her basic cookery skills and encouraged cleaning of her property.

She has slept in a chair for many years so was also encouraged to sleep in a bed to avoid any aches and pains as she gets older.

This client can now access buses into the local town and is .able to shop by herself. She has grown in confidence which I feel is mainly as a result of having this level of support
